Add Contrast wanted a special website that would set them apart from the existing competition in Timisoara. The duo decided to double down on their online experience so we collaborated to create this website and give them a slight brand direction for their following social media campaigns.
First I checked how the other interior design companies from Timisoara look online. At this point I understood that it’ll be easy to have a distinct website.
I drew most of my inspiration from independent architecture professional or boutique studios, and design strategy companies.
As I was sourcing images, sections, typefaces, and color palettes that I liked, I started thinking on how to tell the story of Add Contrast. This is my preferred way of designing. With content first, it’s clear how I can sequence the sections, which layouts I can use, and it removes a lot of back and forth between the two sides.
Interior design is getting more common for families and the middle class in Romania. But we need to be completely open about how the process goes and what the studio can provide. This allows people to feel safe about their decision to contact Add Contrast.
We decided on 4 key elements that needed special attention in terms of design and content:
As we defined the content, I found a direction I thoroughly enjoyed. It had clear lines, neutral colors with accents of maroon and orange, and the images did the heavy lifting.
I went for a simple design with large typography and large images. My main intention was for this to look clean, welcoming, and allow the details in their projects to lead.
When presenting their work to the clients, Add Contrast always go the extra mile. I wanted to do the same for them so I made use of Webflow’s interaction system.
The interactions are subtle, yet eye-catching in the right places. They put the duo’s attention to details and the beautiful imagery in focus for the visitors.
It was our goal for this site not to be boring and simple. Just as their interiors, it has elements that feel luxurious, yet it’s welcoming and simple for everyday life.
This approach makes sense as they target people that care about design, people that want to live in a thoughtful place, but don’t have the time or skills to create one by themselves.
